Attendance
Attendance and tardies will be recorded each day.
AM Kindergarten is from 8:30-11:30 a.m., but the door
will open at 8:10 a.m., and centers will begin at that time.
After 8:30 a.m.your child will be marked tardy. AMK
children will be dropped off and picked up at the classroom
door. Full-Day kindergarten will end at 3:00 p.m., and kindergartners
will be picked up at small circle pick-up.
Book Orders
Book orders will be sent home monthly. You can
purchase great books at great prices. Please pay
cash or check payable to the book club.
Snacks
You will be asked to bring snack one to two weeks out of the
school year. Please provide a healthy, low-sugar snack
for the class (we have 26 students in class). You do not need
to bring juice, cups or napkins, just the food item.
Some suggestions: crackers, cheese, fruit, veggies and dip,
little sandwiches, fig newtons, pretzels, Jell-O, trail mix, etc.
For your child’s birthday you may bring a special snack: brownies,
cookies, popsicles, doughnuts, cupcakes, etc. NO CAKES!!!
Homework
A packet of 6-8 pages of homework will go home
with your child every Monday. This packet will include
a variety of math, phonics and/or writing
pages. Your child is responsible for turning in his/her
homework to the homework tray by Friday.
Memory
There will be a memory verse each week that goes along
with our Bible story. Your child needs to memorize it by Friday.
The verse will be on the homework packet for the week. The verse
will also be listed on my classroom blog.
Chapel/offerings
We will attend chapel weekly on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
Your child may bring an offering. Envelopes for offering will be
attached to the homework packets. Offerings are designated for special mission
projects. I encourage the children to bring
their own money, no matter how little, because it
teaches them about giving of their own.
Report Cards
Report cards come home at the end of each quarter, and
parent-teacher conferences are in October. Please do not
limit yourself to these “checkpoints”. I am happy to meet
with you whenever it is needed.
Parties
Birthday parties are a BIG issue in Kindergarten! My goal
is to keep feelings from being hurt and to teach good manners.
I understand (and advise) that parties at this age ought to be
limited in size. My wish is that parties not be discussed at
school and invitations not be handed out at school unless everyone
(or all the girls/all the boys) has been invited.
Field Trips
We take field trips throughout the year to various places.
You will be invited to drive. Younger siblings can look forward
to Kindergarten field trips when they are old enough for
Kindergarten. I also ask that you do not take Kindergarten
children out of school to join another class field trip.
Again, they will enjoy that field trip when they are in that class.
All children who are not 6 or 60 lbs. must bring a booster
seat on the day of the trip.
Discipline
I stress that children are responsible for their own behavior.
There are rules and consequences. The system I use
includes positive reinforcement, the marble jar, discipline clips,
time-outs and parent conferences if necessary.
Share
The first full week of a new month is “Share Week”. Students may bring one share
item from home on any day they choose during that week.

Thankyou for the wonderful day ! Luv Mason (& Mom)
Thank you, I got the email.
